Norpro 13-1/2-Inch Pizza Pan Reviews
9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Warning: Pan smaller than advertised (O.D.: 13.5"), By Sonic Immersion (Sunnyvale, CA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Norpro 13-1/2-Inch Pizza Pan (Kitchen) Warning: This pan is not 14" in diameter, not even the outer diameter. The outer diameter is 13.50". Therefore, they should have advertised this as a 13.5" pan, not a 14" pan. Please also note: The pan curves up fairly high around the perimeter compared to other pizza pans. If you have a hard, flat, frozen pizza that you wish to cook, the flat area of this pan is only approximately 10.25" in diameter, so a true 12" or 14" frozen pizza would not fit onto the pan surface. And if you are using the pan to bake your own dough (and the dough is soft, not frozen), you can use the parts of the pan that are not flat and curve upwards, but still the maximum inner diameter (including the curved portions) of this pan is only 12.75". Another Norpro pizza pan carried on Amazon is advertised as having a 15.5" diameter, and my guess is that, unlike my "14-inch" pan which was really only 13.5" at the outer diameter (O.D.), the "15.5-inch" pan may actually be the size... Beautiful, and functional., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Norpro 13-1/2-Inch Pizza Pan (Kitchen) I love my pan, but it is definately not non-stick. You do need to lightly oil it, or use parchment paper, but is durable, functional, beautiful, and does not have that nasty non-stick coating that's so bad for you. My asthmatic son does not do well with non-stick being used in the house at all - it gives off fumes, let alone what peels off into your food. Stainless Steel or glass is much safer and healthier. It's dishwasher safe, but if you get a lot of food stuck on it, just soak it first. If it gets a little baked on oil, or other stain, just clean it off gently with a little baking soda and water on a sponge or paper towel. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful stainless steel pizza pan, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Norpro 13-1/2-Inch Pizza Pan (Kitchen) My wife and I had been looking for a stainless steel pizza pan for a long time locally and wherever we went. We don't live in a large city, so we were a bit limited. We could only find the kind of non-stick and plated steel pans that are everywhere. I especially wanted one that was heavy enough, not thin like so many things these days. This pan hit the nail on the head, it is made of a good heavy stainless. As to appearance, it is a work of the polishing art, but that is both good and bad. I'm afraid to lend it out or take any food to a pot luck on it for fear someone will scratch it right away. In fact we bake on it, then transfer the pizza to another el cheapo pan or to a cutting board to do the slicing. But I do love the pan and highly recommend it to anyone who likes nice cooking utensils. |
