It's not only light weight, it conducts the oven heat very well...certainly better than the cardboard that comes under most frozen pizzas! This results in much crisper pizza crust coming out of the oven.The downside of aluminum is that it's soft. It's virtually impossible to use a pizza cutter without leaving star-shaped scratches on the pan. Unless you're planning on hanging the thing on the wall, this doesn't really affect anything. (And, if you're hanging these on your wall, I highly suggest that you fire your decorator..) Conclusion: They're cheap. They work. Can slide the pizza off the rack of the pizza oven on the tray and still have a lip on the tray to hold onto. Works great. It came with a few minor scuffs on the surface, but I scratch it with a pizza cutter anyway, so big deal. They look like someone's been playing frizzbee with them.Also, the picture led me to believe it was an almost flat pan, when in fact the edge bevels up more than 1/2" from the bottom, and only 9" out of the 11" pan is flat. So the two I ordered are going back to Amazon. I ordered the Winware "Coupe Style" pizza pans from Amazon last week, and they also came beat up, but they are much flatter. They only bevel up 3/8" and a lot less of the pan is beveled, and more of it is flat. |
