The airholes allow for browning of the crust. Thick aluminum material that doesn't stratch when being cut with a pizza wheel. Cleanup up easily too. No rust (our old pans got rust on them). The smaller pan is just the right size for the small personal size pizzas that are great for lunch. Highly recommended. I'm always looking for ways to cook without turning on the big oven during the hot summer months. This is a BIG plus.. I love making my own pizzas!!! 12 minutes at 400 degrees makes a great crispy crust. I'm sure I will use the big one during the winter when I want to warm up the house.
